Philosophy

Philosophy’s main function is to nurture critical thinking and critical analysis of the most fundamental beliefs and questions on ontology, epistemology, ethics, science, politics, culture and arts, religion, mind and language of human being. Some renowned and academically prominent professors deliver the discipline courses.
Required Competencies
A basic requirement to succeed in philosophy is being familiar with mathematics. Indeed, mathematics serve as a bridge to get to philosophy. Interest in philosophical topics is another success factor to learn philosophy. Having a good command of English and Arabic languages is necessary for students interested in western philosophy and Islamic Philosophy respectively.
Job Opportunities
Philosophy plays a critical role in advancing intellectual capacity of the human being as communities need people with critical thinking power who understand and can deal with cultural problems and concerns. Philosophy is aimed at nurturing such potentials. Philosophy graduates may serve as philosophy teachers or take on research jobs. They can also be recruited in government administrative areas and educational institutions.
